Harry Potter Inspired Bridals

Honestly, "magical" does little justice to how lovely Holly looked the day we shot her bridals. That smile? It wasn't because she got to wear that pretty dress (okay - we all smiled a little at the pretty dress). The big smile, though? She finally saw herself as a future bride - and reality set in. A reality that makes her grin like that, because she's marrying her best friend.

When Holly asked me to help her create bridals that would go with her wedding theme I was ecstatic. The theme? All things Harry Potter inspired. We chose Lake Junaluska after much consideration because of the lush greenery (she's Slytherin, after all) and because of the beautiful stone church.

I took my time trying to decide what could be equal parts romantic and Harry Potter inspiration for a bridal shoot and encouraged Holly to consider writing a love letter on parchment with a pretty quill. She agreed that would be perfect, and showed up with the loveliest green quill I've ever seen. I've been keeping these photos from everyone else for far too long and I am so happy to finally be able to share some of my favorites.

I think J.K. Rowling would be proud of the part her world and words played in Holly & Jason's love story and their big day. I look forward to sharing wedding photos soon.
