A Sweet Arboretum Maternity Session

A couple of days ago I met Molly & Ryan at the NC Arboretum to take maternity pictures with their sweet puppy (who is more like a senior pup at eleven years old than an actual pup, but same difference). I assured them I wasn't worried about whether we'd get a few good ones or not, we always do.

Molly looked absolutely adorable in her pink dress - and when I told her she was having the best hair day ever Ryan let me know that was an every day thing for her (jealous). These are just previews, but I am trying to get better about putting sessions up on the blog and the best time for me to do that is when they are fresh in my mind!

So, I hope you enjoy the first round of photos I sent them - I can't wait to get the rest of them back to them in the next couple of weeks. I also can't wait to see them become parents - and as pretty as she looks pregnant, I cannot even picture her as a bride one day (did I mention they are recently engaged?? - peep her beautiful ring).

You see the smirk on that dog's face, too, right?!

Gimme all the purple trees.

"So do you two know what nose kisses are?" - me

"ABSOLUTELY WE DO," - him

"We don't really have any professional pictures of our [senior] dog..." - them

"Say less..." - me

Did I lay down for the pictures of her laying down? Yes. Do I regret it? No.

I don't know why, but this photo of her reaching down for her dog while she gently cups the baby in her belly with the hand that has her engagement ring on it and her curls fall is one of my favorite "belly pictures" in the world. Or it was... until we took the one below of her pup looking at her belly. Now it's a tie.

I mean COME ON - the dog looks like it is smiling at the baby bump.

Molly, thank you for reaching out and letting me capture these. & thank you both for being such good friends to my sister, Emily. I'm glad she sent you my way!

You can find this session on my very neglected Pinterest by clicking here.

PS - If any of you are seeing this blog post in early April, be sure to reach out if you would like a session here while the flowers are lovely. It's one of my favorite places for spring sessions and right now I have time to add more spring sessions to my calendar.
